Excellent budget hotel
It has been a very pleasing stay at Tay view hotel. The place is is 30 mins walk from city center but nice and quiet. Rooms are clean. Staff have been very helpful. Restaurant below is good with some wide variety of authentic Indian food. Owner is a nice man and has been very helpful. Recommended to others looking for place to stay in Dundee.

Budget hotel on the outskirts of Dundee
In a word, bizarre. This hotel apparently opens its doors at the indicated check-in time of 4pm as I found out the hard way by having a taxi take me from Dundee train station to drop my bags at about 1:30 to find a hotel in darkness with no one at all there. After finally contacting the proprietor via phone he agreed that I could come by at about 3pm to drop my bags and check in. The restaurant/bar apparently was open in the evening but after a certain hour from what I could make access to the main hotel was closed for guests and unless I am mistaken there is no one manning the hotel thereafter. In the morning I could not access the main hotel from the accommodation area (all the same building) and it appeared again that the hotel was empty and in darkness when we left.

Great values
We stay here regularly. Not our normal accom, but very handy for us as our student daughter lives across the road. Staff great, bar good and food super and great value Nan breads are the best. Rooms are basic and a little dated/tired but clean and comfortable. Been before and will go again. Great value.

Nice views out to Tay.
Large ensuite room with king size bed.Had table at window with nice views.Could have done with a bedside table each,not just the one.Of the four lampshades in room all were different!Some road noise at early rush hour and noise from door closers on other rooms and laundry room next door.Had a super Indian meal in Hotel on first night.Garden area at front is a bit of a mess at present.
