all was great, but even though there was plenty of room our room, they would not bring in a rollaway bed to accommodate the 4 of us.

The hotel was great and in a great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend against getting the breakfast. We paid extra for it and we're very underwhelmed. It wasn't very good and we wished we ate out instead of at the hotel. The bartender in the basement made fabulous drinks, but they were very expensive (our post-dinner drinks at the hotel were more expensive than our entire dinner)

Great
Came for business at the local universities and found the hotel in great condition, nice room size, clean, and very helpful staff.

Good design, wish more things were open
The hotel was well designed and chic. The hotel bar is fantastic, as is the bartender. However the hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the main shopping and restaurant districts in and around Gion. This might not be a big deal other times of year, but we were there over New Years (Jan 1-3) and almost all restaurants and shops were closed, so we really wished we were closer in.

Comfortable in Kyoto
It was a very nice hotel with easy access to bus & subway lines. Our room was large and very comfortable. Only negative was the addition tax that we had to pay when we arrived, it wasn’t a big deal but would have been nice to know about it in advance.

Would stay there again
Excellent location 2 mins away from a subway stop, with convenience stores and eateries around the corner. The room is nice and large for Japan standards, with free drinks and snacks inside. Also an added bonus the room comes with a Handy Phone, a free smartphone with full data/voice service for you to borrow during your stay; tremendously convenient.
