Easy access to Edinburgh.
A great B&B in a suburb of Edinburgh. Easy access to the city (park and ride) and the innkeepers were more than helpful setting us up. Great cooked-to-order breakfast - don't forget the fresh porridge from the local oat farm! If you want to visit "The real Mary's Close" (a don't miss attraction), make your reservation in advance!

Avoid ground floor room if possible
Very friendly host, delicious fresh food. Good size room. However our room was located on the ground floor & our door opened onto the entrance hall & so we could hear anyone coming in or out & talking plus we could hear guests walking around upstairs. Unfortunately the floorboards in our room squeaked dreadfully so it was impossible to creep around & as our bathroom was next to the kitchen/hall it was a little hard to relax. The door between the bedroom & bathroom creaked so loudly I'm sure everyone knew when we open/closed it. It did seem a little strange that we had to choose our breakfast options as soon as we had checked in before we had even seen our room or unpacked the car. Perhaps handing the guests the options & asking for the completed sheet to be returned within 1/2 hr would be more acceptable. Parking is in front of property but parking spaces are tight & as location is at the end of a cul-de-sac be prepared to do a 3 point turn & reverse in! Try the local Adamson Hotel/Restaurant in Crossford for an evening meal. Can recommend the pork rashes & steak pie.
