Exceptional 10.0
A great value with a friendly staff
We had a great stay at the Hanoi Lotus Boutique Hotel. We spent five days there and didn't have any problems. The hotel is in a good area close to a number of good eateries and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Mr. Chin and Huong. My only complaint is that the walls are very thin and you can hear a lot of noise from other rooms and downstairs (but not from the street which is good) and the room does not have a window. This place is a great value for the money!

Highly recommend
Staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. Traveling as a solo female, they ensured that I was comfortable and really made me feel safe. Location of the hotel is very convenient and walking distance to all of old quarter. Would definitely recommend.

Hanoi Lotus Amazing
This hotel went above and beyond my expectations. The location was great in Hanoi's Old Quarter area being just a 10 minute walk to the Lake and all the restaurants and shops in between. The room itself was large and clean with a wonderful terrace to sit out on in the evening while enjoying a breeze and cold beer. The room came with a large clean bathroom and breakfast every room which had a simple, yet delicious buffet choice or ordering from the menu. The best part of this hotel however, is the staff. Mr. Chin and Mrs. Thuong were exceptional. They were always on hand to answer any questions and offer assistance with sightseeing, tours, and even were to get a good meal. When you first check in they offer you a nice beverage and a fan to cool down with. You are greeted in the morning with a friendly hello and in the evening with a kind good night. It's this type of people and service that make a hotel great and add to your the enjoyment of your entire trip. I come back to Hanoi, I will definitely stay in this hotel and again and I will recommend it to all my friends and family. Thank you again everyone at the Hanoi Lotus Boutique for such a wonderful experience!! Your friend, Antonio (tony) Clark

Good 6.0
Totally fine but not great
Pros: the staff is SO nice and everyone is super helpful. Seriously cannot recommend the staff enough—they are stars. They made sure we had everything we needed, and immediately fixed a toilet that broke. The breakfast is good, and the location is great. Cons: the windows have holes in them (not like they’re broken, it’s the way they are made) which lets in a ton of sound from the busy Hanoi streets. There is a weird curtain you can use over the shower wall, but the bathroom and bedroom have only a glass wall preventing you from watching your roommate poop. The pillow is the lumpiest excuse for a pillow I’ve ever seen—you’d be better off balling your clothes up in a pillowcase and using that. The shower wasn’t super clean, partially due to some cracked tiles that I think must make cleaning hard. Overall not the worst place you could stay, but we also decided not to return for our other days in Hanoi because, despite the excellent staff, the low price just wasn’t worth how yucky and uncomfortable the room felt. The management should invest in some maintenance and upgrades to make the hotel as great as their front desk staff
