Solo travel
I had a good stay. It wasn't too crowded in the mixed dorm. I was able to visit all the local attractions in New Orleans by walking. This hostel has street parking that is free. You don't have to pay the meter. If you want to go to Atlanta like i did while you are here, you can do it by going through Megabus.com. Overall nice hostel, thinking about coming back for Mardi Gras

Quant hostel in old house
This is a very nice hostel; close to the Garden District/Warehouse District, as I recall. It is walking distance to several museums (if you don't mind a walk through a part of town that some may not feel safe; I did, but walked during daylight hours on a Saturday). The house was likely built in the late1800s, and beautifully remodeled. It is one of the cleanest hostels I've ever stayed. New Orleans is often hot and humid, and was also during my stay in February (2018). Yet one of the guests turned off the air condition in our room. No fault of the hostels'! Staff were great too (seriously!) I'd gotten there late, but wasn't aware they had a check-in time before a certain hour. One of the female staff was so sweet, even though she was off the clock, she still showed me around.

Weekend for Wrestlemania
I spent the weekend in New Orleans for Wrestlemania 34. The hostel is well taken care of and the staff is friendly. There are various nightly activities for the people staying there, which is nice for solo travelers not familiar with the area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Friendly, clean, quiet (when and where it should be: in the sleeping quarters). Great little hostel! The only catch is that it's on the other side of the freeway from the CBD, French Quarter, Marigny, etc., so you'll be taking cabs back to the hostel at night (or walking under a dark overpass...). Not a huge problem, but something to know in advance.

No continental breakfast. Room was ok but did have roaches and other bugs.
