On one side of Cais da Ribeira, you’ll find Ribeira Square, a popular gathering spot and a great place to grab a drink and people-watch. On the other, you’ll find the awe-inspiring Dom Luis I Bridge—built by Teophile Seyrig in a style reminiscent of his associate Gustave Eiffel, architect behind the Eiffel Tower—overlooking both sides of the river with astounding panoramic views.

Porto River was a fabulous place to stay in Porto. The hotel is newly renovated with beautiful minimalist furnishings. Our apartment was huge with a living room, spacious bedroom with king-sized bed and nicely appointed bathroom. Much larger than we anticipated for Europe! The location is right along the river front near a dozen different restaurants. Lots of street entertainers, which was quaint when we first arrived, but became a bit irritating when we tried to catch a nap in the afternoons. It’s also a short walk across the bridge to Gaia to check out tastings at the many wineries. Service was great. Housekeeping leaves a little surprise each day (chocolates, a bookmark) which is a nice touch. We’d stay here again!

The hotel staff were amazing, in fact best hospitality I have ever experienced ( thanks Anna and Daniella S.). Happened to be there when the river overflowed and lobby was flooded with 4 ft. of water. Staff moved everything to 2nd floor and carried on like nothing was happening. Even had breakfast buffet ready the next morning. Can’t say enough about how great this place was. Rooms are modern, spacious and very clean. Can’t wait to go back.

Hotel is centrally located right by the Duoro river. Great restaurant and sightseeing scene all around it. If you are interested in visiting wine cellars they are a short walk away Across the bridge. Just be ready to climb some steep hills to see the rest of the sights Staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Hotel seems to be very new and that shows in every piece of its design, as well as the cleanliness of its facilities. Moving around Portugal and staying at other hotels - this was a definite highlight of our trip!

Is located right across the river providing direct access to walk across the bridge, all restaurants are within steps, and is just within walking distance of many historical sites. The hotel’s history, their staff, and attention to detail makes it worth coming back!
