    Argo Hotel, Naxos
Some renovated rooms but with management problem
Apparently there are 2 Argo hotels: Apartments & Boutique. We paid for the Boutique; they put us in the cheap Apartments. The Apartments are old and in shameful condition, e.g. the toilet seat was covered in mold. The "balcony" was simply chairs & table in the hall. After saying that we would not stay there, the staff told us to wait until the manager came, "sometime in the evening" and that the rooms in the boutique were fully booked. We spent the next 4 hours looking for another hotel (in Greece in August…). Big thanks to the excellent customer service from after threatening to cancel, the manager took another hour to fix the room schedule (organized on an old, torn piece of paper). We would have to move rooms at least once. The Boutique rooms are newly renovated as are the pool and fitness room. Wifi / WLAN doesn't reach most rooms & didn't work for long periods of time. We understand that mistakes happen. However, the staff were rude. The managers spoke in Greek to the lady translating and then, after ignoring us, snapped at us in English after we asked a question. Nobody apologized for their mistake and wasting a 1/2 day of our vacation. Except for the young local girl (who was nice but not properly trained), the entire staff acted like the guests were annoyances. Another couple even argued heatedly with them about something. The location and physical condition of the boutique rooms are great, but the hotel has problems with management and competence.
