Great place
If you can manage a steep flight of stairs, this place is fantastic. 100 year old building, rooms on top of the best restaurant in a town of great restaurants .

Room was old apartment. Dark and not updated in at least 40 years. Both the coffee place and restaurant are owned by same place yet neither place was receptive. When I walked into restaurant, I was asked "what can I help you with?" rather than how many in your party as though I was a vagrant. After dropping $170 for the room and $50 for dinner, I wander back in for an icecream and another creepy guy says I can't buy an icecream using a credit card unless I spend at least $10. I said forget it. When I first got there, had to fight through creepy dude at icecream place to find person with key to the room also. Just bad customer service from everyone except the owner who I only saw once.

Good suite for winter travelers
The room, while very spacious, was hot and uncomfortable. There are hot tubs on the floor below, and the steam must rise to prevent the room from ever cooling down. There are no screens on the windows and the bed was extremely creaky. The room would be more desirable in the winter. The owner, Paul was very nice, but he may want to make the room more comfortable for that price.

Great locally owned hotel
The location of this hotel is great. Right in the middle of town with lots of restaurants nearby. My wife stayed with our daughter the night before the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic they were right near the finish line as we rode in. Will be staying again next year!

Smedleys for rooms, but about it
Uncomfortable beds, no towels, no hotel desk in evenings to help with dilemmas.
