Nice people, very rough room
I really, really wanted to like this place. The staff was very friendly/helpful and they provided quite the spread for breakfast, but it was a challenging place to stay. Firstly, the bed was hard and uneven. I don't expect much better for $15 per night, but even for a budget place, it was a little rough. The floor was also filthy. I don't just mean kinda dusty, or needed to be mopped, I mean there were crumbs and mud all over the floor. I put on my sandals to walk to the bathroom, so my feet didn't get dirty. The other guests were very loud, even after we asked them to keep it down a bit. They were shouting and laughing until about 4am and started being loud again around 9am. I know that isn't entirely the fault of the establishment, but the walls are thin, there is an open window facing the common space, and the a lot of stained glass between you and the common space, which provides minimal sound proofing and/or privacy. Even still, a friendly staff and budget price might have covered over some of this, but we had trouble getting hot water. We had someone come in a fix it, but the next morning it wasn't working again. All things said, I'm pretty sure one could find another place to stay for cheap in Fes that had equally helpful staff, but that was in somewhat better condition.

Exceptional 10.0
The staff were absolutely amazing, and made this trip a blast! It genuinely began to feel like home after a few days. They were accommodating in every capacity, and were more than willing to guide us and give us advice as to what to see, do, and ensured that when we needed something, that we weren't over charged, or taken for fools by local shops. We could not have asked for a better experience in Fes. I will say that the hotel was somewhat tricky to get to, but this was part of the experience, and by the second day, we had no issues navigating the narrow paths of the old city to make it back to the hotel. We would definitely stay here again on any future visits to Fes
