Ok hotel for the price
Room is great for families since there's a kitchennette. The room was really cold, and despite turning on the heater, it never got warm. Breakfast was included, but it was really a voucher for a drink and breakfast item, like a muffin, at the cafeteria next door that's also run by the hotel staff. Food wasn't great.

PATHETIC amenities, no wi-fi, EXCELLENT Staff
I booked the hotel for good wi-fi, but it was PATHETIC. No signals. The owner's son came there and outright rejected my feedback on the wi-fi. The reception staff was EXCELLENT, as he provided me his personal phone for internet, due to which I could work. Their breakfast and small cafe is just awesome.

A pleasant four day stay at Suites Chapultepec
This was one of the better small hotels I stayed at during my trip to Guadalajara and Puerta Vallarta. The room was small, but clean and the service good. I especially enjoyed the friendly staff and assistance they gave me. The location was OK but a long walking distance from el Centro. Even so, busses run frequently and you ride for only 7 pesos (about $0.39 USD).

Exceptional 10.0
Basic, clean and friendly
The staff was very sweet; they did speak a little English but seemed relieved I was fluent in Spanish. It’s not a luxury hotel but they do a good job with what they have, and it’s a great value for the price. Was very happy with the coffee shop downstairs and the many restaurants & farmacia just a few blocks away. The neighborhood looks rougher than it actually feels, it gets very quiet at night. I can understand if your main purpose was to sightsee, you might want to stay closer to the cathedral. But for me it worked out well to be an easy walk halfway between the cathedral area & Avenida Chapultepec. Uber drivers were plentiful once I developed blisters from all the walking. ;-)

Exceptional 10.0
The staff was very friendly and the hotel had everything we needed. We enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel cafe. If you don't mind walking, the hotel is between the historical area and Chapultepec, so you won't need a taxi to get to either.
