Omana Phnom Penh
There are many reviews about this hotel which are very consistent on how nice this place is. The breakfast was the absolute most incredible experience of any hotel I have occupied outside of Istanbul. The taste, the variety, freshness and delivery were amazing. The staff were consistently helpful and friendly. The rooms were compact and very comfortable. There are a lot of open space areas in the hotel for lounging outside of the room which is very creative and clever. My room was not ready when I arrived early, but I was able to place my bags in the room and walk around during the day while it was prepared. There are only stairs, so if you have problems with stairs you will not like the hotel on the higher floors. The location is on a side street meters from the Independence Monument and a km or less from the presidential palace and riverfront

Change of owner .. Not as good
I have not been to the Omana hotel for over a year and it has changed hands. The couple that had it before were both very visible and also very sociable. That is not obvious now and the breakfast was mediocre. There are much better hotels nearby

Modern-style boutique hotel
As with all of the Asian hotels I have visited, the staff are caring and helpful. The Night Market is just 5 minutes away by foot. But, compared with other markets in other cities it is relatively small.

The best kept secret in Phonm Phenh
Great Hosts Ruben and Ashley with wonderful staff. From a massage by the pool to fixing my iPhone issue, nothing was a problem for this lovely host. Food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Dinner beside the pool after a afternoon of chaotic sightseeing was a fantastic way to unwind. Pool temp was excellent.

Not as good as we hoped
Booked 3 nights based on positive reviews. Nice little hotel but we had some issues. We booked a standard room which was on ground floor next to reception. On check in, we were asked if we wanted to upgrade breakfast for $6 per night, we declined, although I'm sure it's nice. We were not informed when breakfast started and had to ask later. The room info stated there was a fridge, but this was missing, but they sourced one for us. Room was comfy, but we had ants in our room from the door to a small hole in the adjacent wall. We informed staff and when we returned from day out, we had been relocated to 2nd floor, which was nice of them. Unfortunately there was an awful drain smell from the bathroom. Upon checkout, we were presented with a credit card surcharge despite the fact we had paid in full inc taxes/fees through, which I explained and showed the booking confirmation which did not detail any extra charges. Overall, a mixed stay. Nice building, nice common area but more negative than positive.
