Roseloe Motel, Hot Springs
Good value motel near Garth Newel Music Center
Budget motel that far exceeded expectations. Room was clean and fresh, tasteful colors, comfortable beds, pleasant and courteous staff, very reasonable room rate. Motel is less than .3 mile from Garth Newel Music Center where we attended a concert. While closet space was adequate, our room lacked any furniture with drawers to store our smaller items.

Basic needs fully met, friendly, but FILTHY!
Upon first arrival, the motel seemed basic but just fine and the service very friendly. We are used to staying in motel 6-style accomodations on outdoor trips so we were not shocked or put out when the bed linens were unnattractive and thin and were pleased that the heater seemed to be in very good working order. Slowly, we began to notice how very dirty the room was. Though the counter seemed clean, once I took the complimentary soaps from the dish I found built up scum and hair underneath. There was a hair on my pillow, fingerprints and sticky buildup on the windows, mysterious stains on the towels, the kitchen towel had obviously been "lightly" used and not replaced from the last tenant, there was a lot of junk splattered on the walls, the window unit in the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned in many months at least, I felt the need to always wear socks because the carpet felt grimy, the bathroom floor had severe water damage and woodrot, the pillows were tiny and hard as rocks, and there were absolutely mice in the ceiling (not surprising given the rural environment, but it added to the sensation that I didn't want to touch anything). The cleaning staff came while we were out but did no more than replace the linens and make the beds. They did not wipe down the bathroom or other such things. (Personally, I was fine with that, but I thought others might appreciate knowing) Overall, this was well appointed for a basic crash-pad, but desperately needed cleaning.

Room 17 has electricity problems. You will trip the breaker if you're not careful.

O.K. for a short stay
We were in room 21, which had a kitchen ... that was convenient. We wanted to eat a couple of meals there. We found only one fork, and that was sticking out from under the side of the bed.

fishing trip
the motel was fine for the trip that I was on. was on a fishing trip in the area and I would say the motel was fine for a few men on a fishing trip. not sure I would bring the wife for a long weekend but might. the motel is dated and the kitchen area was very dated. I would stay here again in the future for my next fishing trip in the area.
