Taste of antebellum grandeur
Beautiful antebellum home, now a B&B. Nice spacious rooms in the house. Continental breakfast but tasty and quick. Beware, no elevator in the main house rooms.

8/10 Very Good

Great Southern Hospitality!!!
Lots of dust on counters and floors. No Kleenex in the Kleenex container. Minor repairs, slow bathtub drainage, tile needs grout, some drywall patching needed The staff was so friendly and accommodating!

Great property that allowed you to walk around and look at everything. The only thing we wished was opened that was not was the English Pub.

2/10 Poor

The house was very pretty, although not very clean. Upon checking in, I discovered that there was no bellman and no service was provided to get my luggage up to the third floor (no elevators). The desk clerk finally agreed to bring my luggage up after he checked everyone in. The breakfast was lacking. Offered was cereal, a toaster for bread, sausage sandwiches to be heated in a micro. On the third day, there were no plates. I asked the desk clerk who dropped in for a plate; her reply was "This is all they brought for us". No attempt was made to correct the situation. I had to tear apart a paper cup to use as a plate. The rooms were not cleaned in the three nights I stayed here. The coffee cups for room use were dirty; coffee drips were on the cups & stained the coasters they were on. The floors had not been mopped. The ice machine was in an outside hallway, beside a full trashcan (the desk clerk's job included emptying this). A white cloth napkin was left on the floor outside my room for two days. The hallways were not vacuumed for the three nights I was there. I saw from the hallway into the main house kitchen that the clear glass dinner plates & other serving pieces were stacked haphazardly outside on a porch. There was no security for the main house. I walked in the back door from the Courtyard quarters and toured the whole house- saw no one. I hope the rooms had locks on their doors. Please do not attempt to stay here unless you are very young & fit.

LOVELY PLACE, BUT NO INSULATED WALLS.
The Dunleith was a beautiful place to stay, however, you can hear literally the other people talking in the rooms to the side, above and below you. I could hear every moment the person above me moved and everything they were saying. We loved the home, the grounds and the view. The bed was comfy too, but will not be staying here again, due to the lack of insulation between rooms.
