We booked and requested (in writing) a high-level room with pool and ocean view (which is what we paid extra for);
Room wasn’t on a high level, and guest relations started arguing it was (while we witnessed the guests before us checking in 2 floors higher);
The room didn’t have a pool view;
The room’s television connections didn’t work;
The balcony could not be used as it stank outdoors.
We had to spend time complaining, were frustrated the room wasn’t as promised and TV didn’t work. We changed rooms and were offered some fruit for our trouble.
In our next room:
The TV worked;
We requested housekeeping to clean our room, and left the room so they could clean;
We had to spend time complaining, were frustrated the room wasn’t cleaned as promised and to make it worse, housekeeping lied that they in fact cleaned the room, but didn’t want to touch our stuff, while the bed wasn’t made up, towels weren't changed, bins weren’t emptied and toiletries not replenished. We were offered orange juice as compensation;
The fridge stank and didn’t work properly – it wasn’t even cool;
Given we experienced a lot of troubles by now, we were offered a room upgrade, but only for our last night.
On other occasions:
The private beach was littered with small Styrofoam pallets, some plastic bottles and some other waste, so we could not use the beach;
Food prices in restaurants are bad value for money and gave me food poisoning;
Staff speak poor English.
