Marita, the owner of Casa de Marita, was genuinely concerned about the welfare of her guests. She is so adorable and sweet. She made me and my daughter feel right at home. We had an issue with a local, and she went out of her way to help me solve the issue amicably and tenaciously. I highly, highly recommend this gorgeous hotel for a very memorable stay in Galapagos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Place to stay in Santa Cruz Galapagos
Affordable Hotel near everything you will need. That is tourist spots within walking distance, local eating spots (los kioskos), seaport, bus route, main thoroughfare. Very well run by a good team. Attentive and accomodating to customer needs.

Friendly, Convenient Hotel with Personality
The front desk and staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved all the decorations and tile work of sea life. The hotel is close to restaurants and the walk to Tortuga Bay was long, but well worth it. Great place to stay. Breakfasts were varied and very good.

Great Centrally Located Hotel
Hotel Coloma Galapagos is a hotel that's within half mile of the main tourist pier. That means lots of restaurants, shops, museums and tour companies are within easy walking distance. It's also located two blocks from the Santa Cruz Ferry bus stop, so it's very convenient when arriving from the airport. It's an easy 5 minute walk from the hotel to the entrance to the path to Galapagos Beach at Tortuga Bay. Given that you're on a small island in the Pacific Ocean, set your expectations accordingly. the room was reasonable for two people but the bathroom was a little on the small side. On the other hand there is a mini-kitchen with a microwave, sink and mini-fridge. Bed was a little lumpy. There were occasional live and dead insects, but not unexpected given the location. I only had the breakfast one morning and it was unremarkable and relatively small, but again, not unexpected. One night my AC stopped working and I had to find the property manager who fixed it problem within 20 minutes. Housekeeping turns off the AC to save energy so put perishable items in the fridge. WIFI speeds are good for casual surfing but don't expect to watch anything in HD. TV reception was very hit and miss, with some days the signal being clear and others being nothing but snow. The channels were all in Spanish, which isn't surprising, but I was hoping for at least one English-language channel, like BBC World or CNN International. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay at funky Hotel Coloma
We really enjoyed our 3-night stay at this funky hotel in Puerto Aroya. The hotel was about 200 meters from the town market where the bus from the airport dropped us — no need for a taxi. Gina made wonderful recommendations on activities and restaurants and gave us a map showing where things were located as how to go about getting to things and how much things should cost. This was extremely helpful. The staff were so friendly and anticipated all of our needs. Breakfast in The Beagle room was delicious and varied from day to day. Highly recommend and would love to stay again.
