Our stay.
We know certain things are not guaranteed.
But in a section called "special requests" we asked for the first floor of the building.
Based on our age and current health. They accepted our reservation and at check in time we were told top floor. Again. I wasn't so week at other times. I had made this reservation at least a month earlier. One would think they could have accomodated us, or at least told us promptly that the down stairs was not available. The stairs are amateurishly built and steep. And we had to rest and such to get up them. The bath tup had only one safety bar you could only reach by taking a shower and standing up. My wife took a bath and it was an adventure of epic proportions to get here out of the tub safely. 6 or 7 years ago I could have just picked her up. After two kinds of cancer and the original covid 19--before Vaccines were available-- I have a hard time lifting a hard back edition of a Stephen King Novel. I can't risk staying there again.
Then there's a matter of the refund for the cancelation of the 14th I confirmed on September 8th. Have not seen any sign for it. The Hotel said I never paid for the 14th. My bank statement feels light. And there was a notice of payment recieved in my inbox. I tried to resolve this before my stay. Quit trying to during out stay! The idea was to De-stress, not to add stress. The beds were comfortable, and the view was decent!
