Some odor comming out of floor drain in bathroom

Very Good 8.0
Check in staff are always friendly and try to accommodate an early check and/or floor selection when they can. The rooms in the annex building are a little worn but spacious and comfortable enough for the price. The security guards and housekeeping staff always have a smile on their face and will try and help any way they can. The Wifi is super fast but it has always been pretty reliable. This is the hotel I usually stay at when in town. It is definitely a value for what you get.

Great place to stay for the money
I have stayed here many times over 12 years and always come back, it needs updated but is very clean, The owner has lost interest in this place and built a much bigger and much more expensive hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is good, the waitress are young and need training you must ask and remind them to come to your table. The pool is very old but also very clean.

Avoid STANDARD rooms like the plague
First trip to the Philippines and the hotel arranged private car at Manila airport was flawless. With Air Asia newly opened direct flight I arrived at hotel at 330AM. I was aware that to check in then I would be hit with a full day's charge, so I went to the hotel's poolside restaurant for spaghetti which was atrocious, sauce was almost brown in color. 6AM checkin to the standard room (called "deluxe") was at 50% of the RACK rate, not internet rate, no biggie. Decent room comfortable bed, but the WINDOW UNIT aircon set at 25C just rapidly went on and off the on and off. When off it made a very loud electric hum like a big overloaded transformer. IMPOSSIBLE to sleep. Engineer and housekeeping came and confirmed problem, and I quote them, "Many guests complain of the air conditioner noise in the standard rooms." Looking at yet another standard room, this a/c was even worse, a total rattle trap. I was advised I must pay extra to upgrade my room; I replied I needed to contact the booking agent and cancel my weeks stay and go elsewhere. I told them I should not have to pay extra for a functioning a/c. They advised the upgrade rooms were in the main building and had split system a/c's. A call to the manager and I was upgraded for free. What a relief. Gorgeous, comfortable room with a working a/c! However, later the power went out and giant generator came on, I returned to a room reeking of exhaust fumes. The room was right over the exhaust pipe and the generator shook the room.

Nice staff.
Good location and friendly/helpful staff. One thing, the rooms are in need of some serious upkeep. My room, the shower head has a huge leak (which was replaced after I complained) and the paint on the wall was pealing.
