Convenient and tasteful hotel
It was a very comfortable stay. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The smaller "cosy" rooms are very small (more than one person would be tight, especially if you had much luggage), but it was good for the price. It is probably difficult to find a nicer place in that area for that price. Still, the view from my room was onto a tight alley/parking area, and it made the room feel smaller. So it might be worth asking if any of the cosy rooms have better views (I did not ask). Breakfast was nice and not too pricey. The location is great, close to everything in the centre. The staff were all very kind and attentive.

Hôtel de Nemours, Rennes
Modern, tasteful design and excellent location.
Great choice in Rennes. A 20 minute walk from the gare. Very modern: no lace curtains or blue shutters here, just clean, efficient and comfortable rooms. Lots of electrical outlets, good lighting and nice size bathroom with a large , walk-in shower. Nicely scented soap, although it was in a squeeze bottle. High quality linens, but a rather sagging bed which was odd until I discovered that the whole room seemed a bit slanted! Must have been the age of the original structure. Also, in my room, the toilet was in a separate "closet". No bidet, if that matters to you! Also, there is a completely useless closet with tiny shelves, but absolutely no place for the suitcase. No luggage rack provided. I had to use the desk chair and haul it into the bathroom. The bathroom has full length windows and Roman shades: a bit awkward since it means no exposure/ natural light, or full exposure and visibility from the street. No magnifying mirror. Large sink with ample space for toiletries. Good hairdryer. Breakfast is very good with artisanal jams, lots of cheese, ham, and pastries. The breakfast room is attractive, but not very functional. The modern design means that the "look" is predominant over utility and functionality: small, low chairs, tables close together, little armchairs that don't work in a tight setting. I was there four nights and two mornings the breakfast area was very crowed and close. Overall, this is a lovely, well-appointed boutique hotel. Good value.

3 night-stay at the Hotel de Nemours
I stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel de Nemours in Rennes for a conference. The hotel is well located near Metro, main bus stops and the old city. It is clean, comfortable and relatively quiet. The continental breakfast, at more than 10 euros extra-charge, is a bit expensive, though.
