No hair dryer - staff offered me an iron (really?!) !! to use or said I could go buy one at 7:10 in the morning. I had a high stakes presentation to deliver and had to go to work with my hair looking as if I had gone for an early morning swim - I was so embarrassed. The amenities are in dispensers, but no soap in bathroom - only lotion, hair shampoo, conditioner. Neighborhood is a little sketchy and noisy. The "lobby" of the motel property is behind a glass window, like what you would find at a gas station after hours. On the plus side, I was allowed to check in early, thank goodness, as there is no lobby to wait in. Manager was personable and did take a bit off my bill for my inconvenience of having to go buy a hair dryer after work.

Perfect for What I Needed
I had a one night stay before a business meeting nearby. The reception was friendly and efficient. My request for a ground for room honored. The room is a bit tight but entirely comfortable and clean. The proximity to the McArthur BART station made getting to and from the Oakland Airport a snap. I didn't experience outside noise and other issues described in other reviews. I'm planning to become a regular.

Not a good place
INN @ Temescal Review I stayed one night at the Inn at Temescal. This is probably the worst hotel that I stayed in. The people were very nice but thats where it ends. Here are the problems: - [ ] No remote for the TV in room, when a remoter was provided the only station available was QVC the buying station. - [ ] The desk person came to my room to reprogram the TV so I could get other stations, but my choices were poor, horrible TV experience. - [ ] The room was clean but only had a phone that didn’t work, Refrigerator, coffee maker, and ONE end table. NO clock. - [ ] I had to use my cell phone to call the front desk since the phone didn’t connect me to the front desk. - [ ] There were no towels in the bathroom, when provided they were thin low end towels, not too good for bathing. - [ ] For a $150 per night room, it was not worth half of that. i had better rooms at Motel 6. - [ ] No TV listing or description of what channels are available. - [ ] The first room without a bible, that’s okay. - [ ] The hotel is in a bad section of Oakland and the road noise (fire & police) in the room is loud at times. - [ ] The bathroom sink doesn’t drain, its plugged. - [ ] The room thermostat doesn’t switch from cooling to heating, it has to be done at the unit itself. So if its on cooling and you set the thermostat for a warmer temperature it will not heat ay all.
