HORRIBLE SERVICE
I stayed in Thompson for 4 days 3 nights. Wifi didn't work for 2 days. Phone in room didn't work so I had to go down to the front desk to make requests. Housekeeper did not replace items (shampoo, body wash, towels, cups, utensils etc) after house keeping and I had to request 3 TIMES and it took over an hour for the staff to bring me towels. Staff didn't replace the cups and utensils as requested so I had to go to the rooftop restaurant to get it myself. The rooms are nice and the location is great but the service is HORRIBLE and is the worst hotel service I've ever had. I will not recommend this hotel because of the horrible service. There are plenty of hotels in the same area that are equally as nice for the same price, I suggest you look into those hotels in order to have a good vacation and not deal with the incompetent management at Thompson.

I never made it to the property. The property's website states that there is VALET parking on site, it also states that there is onsite parking and that onsite parking means parking offsite, on the street. The problem here is that there is no way to drive onto the property, all of the streets that lead onto the property are closed to vehicular traffic, pedestrian traffic only, so how can they sit here and say they have VALET parking when you can't drive up to property.

The Thompson Playa Del Carmen is located right in the heart of restaurants, shops and night clubs. It is also right next to Cocobongo, so if you're looking to enjoy yourself and let go by drinking the night away, you're only steps away. On that note, it can become noisy but not to the point that it interrupts your sleep. I want to give a shout out to front staff Christopher. He took care of me by upgrading my room and ensuring I was doing ok. There is another Thompson location by the beach that guests can use their facilities which I did while I stayed there. As an example, guests can use their beach front cabanas, chairs and towels. It's a beautiful location playing music and keeping you entertained. Another shout out to Alfredo, server in Thompson Beach Club. Overall I liked this hotel and will stay there again.

The property located in the heart of 5th street which is great for walking distance to wherever you want to get to on the main strip. The only cons that I had is that the room temperature never got sitting temperature set, and the noise level from the restaurants down 5th street didn't stop til about 3am. Overall, Wonderful hotel wkth outstanding serve.
