Front staff was lovely and I appreciated the combiner airport shuttle. The room was absolutely filthy. I mean dirty dirty. Hair and dirt on the floor, cracks I. The floor and walls and ceiling, the outlet switch in the bathroom had ground in dirt. There was a bug in the bed. The only thing that was clean was the sheets and towels which were in a viably dirty towel holder. The curtain rod was hanging down and I am pretty sure there was was blood splatter on the inside of the door.

Well my room was on the first floor. The cleaning staff were very loud. The bathroom was not compatible to take a bath. I needed the airport shuttle to take me to the airport. It did not come when the front desk staff said it would so I had to take a uber.

My initial room reeked of a mix of mildew, Cuban cigars, and must. What’s more, the shower stall had a family of roaches convened around the floor drain. I took pictures and presented them to the front desk staff expeditiously. Immediately, the front desk personnel were apologetic, sympathetic to my plight, and responsive to my request for a room change. They obliged me and upgraded me room into a room on the 400-level, almost as if they had a standard procedure for these types of complaints. Nevertheless, the upgraded room was a noticeable improvement on the first room. No roaches, no smell, no noteworthy issues. Wish I could have gotten the upgraded room on the 400 level as my original room…this review would have been different. But nonetheless, here we are. Not a terrible motel, but unlikely to return. The staff is great, but the condition in some of the rooms needs work.

We arrived at Motel 6 late and were checked in quickly. Typical US motel. Reasonably large room, with comfy bed. Bathroom very dated. Air con worked well. Struggled to get any hot water from the shower. Motel is near a busy road and a very busy bar is only 100m away, so there is some noise. This motel was sufficient for our needs, but its only really a place for a one or two night stopover nearby to Newark Airport. To visit New York City, it's a 1km walk to the NJ Transit Station (North Elizabeth) and then about 30 minutes on the train to PENN Station, New York.
