Great place but there are some exceptions
The resort is amazing. It is in the jungle away from everything with a lot of birds and wildlife right outside your window. The best is the great view of the Arenal volcano from your room itself. The room was extra large and neat Resort itself is certainly in an amazing setting and well maintained. Few, things we did not like is the service and plumbing. The toilet and bathroom sink did not drain properly. We asked for an extra coffee pouch for the coffee machine in the room and the reception asked if we didn't have one there already. They didn't want to provide us one. Since the rooms are spread apart in the property it is not easy for them to deliver things to your room. We have to say the coffee in the room was one the best hotel room coffees. At check out we kept our luggage in the reception area for an hour and they charged us $3 for that. We thought that is inappropriate. Also, note that since the resort is 20 min away from the La Fortuna town it will cost you more for transportation to reach here and also to go for some of the tours starting form LaFortuna. The birds and wildlife by the reception and dinning area is great treat.

    Really Nice Wildlife Lodge
Really enjoyed our stay here in the rainforest, a great lodge, very good food, nice rooms. It's very spread out so be prepared for walking. Quite a mix of ages and nationalities there, great for birding and will life experiences, but pretty far from almost everything else in the area and down a long, bumpy dirt road. If you want to go out frequently, better to stay somewhere else.

loved our stay except for noisy neighbours!
This is a wonderful place. My only complaints are the following: Food is a little pricy at the restaurant. There are no other options available . We did not have a car so had little choice other than the on site restaurant (good food and service , though) The walls in the rooms are very thin. We heard our neighbours every night - they were talking loudly and stayed up late and got up early . It was very annoying! However , overall this is a great place to stay(just bring earplugs in case you get noisy neighbours!) Also, unless you plan to just stay at the observatory(without seeing other things around Arenal), you should consider bringing your own car

    great adventure home base
Arenal observatory was excellent for a family. The pool was perfect for kids. There was plenty of well maintained hiking trails and a good spa. Food was good and well priced. There was a lot of rain but a wonderful home base with plenty to do!

    Best views of Arenal
Overall this was a fantastic spot to stay in Costa Rica. With amazing views on the volcano from our room and while having breakfast. Anywhere on the property, really. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The no A/C took some getting used to, but it gets pretty cool at night in the mountains. My only downside are the beds. Too hard to sleep comfortably on, but luckily we were so tired every night after adventuring. The staff was also great. Anything we wanted; they were more than open to helping us. So many animals on property as well. Spectacular!

Don't second guess just do it!
This is a hidden gem! We went during the off season and loved it! Due to all the rain we were unable to see the volcano but the resort is still beautiful, if you don't mind getting wet. They helped us pick our activities for each day and arranged transportation. One of the taxis they arranged suggested that we check out the butterfly exhibit that's close to the resort and I HIGHLY recommended that as well!! Over all our trip was amazing!!

Very peaceful place, wonderful trails on property to walk. We were able to see monkeys early in the morning and lots of beautiful birds. It is a bit out of the way, but overall very peaceful.
