For the price (given the very good location), it was a good choice for one maybe two nights. Friendly staff but it's old, the tv remote doesn't even have a guide button. I don't like the scent from the cleaning products. And I didn't notice any way to control the temp. But I've stayed more than once. First time since Covid.

      Disappointing stay

Was led to believe from Hotels.com listing that parking was available at location. Technically, they are correct, there is parking available, what they do not tell you is the parking garage is 3 blocks away. Room was much smaller than expected. The touted bay window looked upon a brick wall, maybe 5 feet away. Not entirely the "city view" that was expected. The building was nice. But room rurniture was dated. One of the desk drawers would not stay shut, and you could see that it had literally been scotch taped shut many many times. Which, is what I had to do. I had to do to front desk where they literally handed me long pieces of scotch tape to fix. Finally, bathroom had little shelf and storage space. The shower was odd. There was no tub or stall. The shower was literally a shower head in the corner of of the room with a flimsy shower curtain to draw around you. Showers left the bathroom floor sopping wet, and had to use towels to dry floor after each shower. My guess may be that I was given a room with an accessible shower, even though that was not requested. Checking in the staff seemed nice and helpful, but after seeing the room and complaining, the staff's response was only "well, we are a boutique hotel." Would not stay here again.

The Alexander is convenient, safe and friendly. The staff is excellent and it has a substantial feel. Even though it is right on the street the noises do not permeate into the hotel and sounds with in the hotel do not carry.

      Highly recommend this hotel.

I can honestly say it was one of the best hotels I've been in. It's got a nice vintage vibe to it. I wish I could live there. Staff was overwhelmingly accommodating and kind. I will be staying there every time I visit Philadelphia.

      Quaint historic hotel.

Nice lovely historical place. Darling room . Twin bed in corner overlooking street. A little noisy but it was a Saturday night. Plenty of restaurants within a few steps. Breakfast ok , a little sparse, croissants, little fruit , yes snd coffee. Room didn’t have too many outlets but a strip attached yo wall had outlet snd usb slots.

      Lost it's charm

What once used to be a boutique cute LGBTQ hotel is now very dated and has lost all it's charm. It's a little sad to be honest. The rooms were clean, but haven't been updated in a very long time. This was fun when i first stayed there 10 years ago and a several times after, but unfortunately it's not now. There are zero amenities and for the price it's not great. Gym is gone and just feels stuck in time. Location is definitely a plus. Parking's a bit of a walk, but not terrible. There are new owners, but to stay competitive they are going to have to add some charm and some wow factor soon. I definitely wouldn't' go back. Rooms are depressing. Staff is very nice though.
