Historical, Massize, Cozy and Quaint.
Hotel is historical, massive, cozy and quaint. Lots of revitalization efforts going on. Would like to see the red canopy entrance look a little more updated, paint and quaint signs explaining where to go would be a good start. You only get to make one first impression! It’s centrally located. Good restaurants close by. Cannon River creates a picturesque view. Northfield is exceptional. I hope the hotel will also someday live up to the town’s beauty. I think the city should give the owners a grant and a low interest loan to complete the restoration. It is really too important to town to let it go. We had a very nice trip and all in all would definitely stay here again.

Great Hotel
Hotel was comfy and front desk staff was friendly. Enjoyed architectural features. Ate at Tavern fir dinner. Food was fabulous. Service was slow. Tried to eat breakfast there next morning. Bartender greeted me. I left 10 minutes later without being seated or talked to by anyone else

Wi-fi was not great. Not designed for business. However, hotel has charm and is geared for tourism.

Not impressed at all
We were excited to stay at Archer because of the location. Upon arrival, we entered our room Fairbault on 2nd floor. The door had be pushed open aggressively to get it open at all. We have never seen anything like this. Do not understand how city inspector passed that door? Also the bathroom door was unable to close fully. It literally was JAMMED OPEN. Luckily I am comfortable with other stayer otherwise how uncomfortable to have a one bathroom you’re paying to use in your room and you can’t close the door completely!?! Another major disappointment was the way the bathroom door opened. It opened towards the vanity and toilet so to close the door once in the bathroom, because it was so tight and door wrongly placed, you have to curl body between toilet and counter sink OR go near the tub. Also the air conditioner was rattling both nights long. We never saw anyone at desk except when we checked in or out. They hide in back room which doesn’t create a friendly and helpful environment. I have heard Fairfield Inn is coming to this area. We want to stay next to this downtown area. Archer is only place, however, we cannot imagine coming back to stay here. What hotel has anyone ever heard of not making sure doors work properly on their rooms and in their rooms? Sand down one side of the doors. It just shows the lack of care for their customers.

Comfortable bed. Quiet room. It's a very old building, but very well maintained. Will stay here again.
