Raasay House
Raasay House was delightful. I had an excellent time. The staff were courteous and kind. Sometimes a little overworked which caused minor delays in service. I will definitely go back. I loved the Island experience.

Expected more given the price. The carpet in the room smelled and left a residue on anything placed on it. The third bed in our triple room was a pull out couch that was extremely uncomfortable. The meals were fine and the staff very pleasant.

Terribly Overpriced and Dated
Terribly, terribly overpriced. I don't mind paying up for a wonderful property, but this just wasn't wonderful. Smelled of dogs, room phones throughout our stay were not functioning, dated bathroom with stains on ceiling and the tiniest shower imaginable (had to stick my legs outside the hinged door to shave), and just overall blah. The views were nice, and in all fairness, the staff was lovely and kind. BUT, when you overprice a hotel that should be about 200 pounds/night (it also serves as a hostel !!!), and try to get 395/night, your guests are bound to feel deceived. Sure at high season Raasay can probably get away with doubling the price, but they should expect that guests will feel upset for the value received, and word does travel quickly.
