Expectations
Nice. Reasonable. Distraction free zone. Great for a business trip but no on site facilities although advertised as having pool and workout space available. Happy with what WAS there, not pleased about what wasnt. Very nice staff.

I have sort of a mixed review, based on my overall
It started with a phone call/message letting me know there was “a problem with my credit card, please contact us”. I then spent the better part of the next hour being made to feel like I was some scumbag with a stolen credit card trying to rent a motel room. “I gotta get paid, man” he said to me, as if I was trying to steal something from him. Turns out he was putting in the wrong zip code, so of course my credit card company rejected the charges. After the above, I have to admit to being off to a negative start with this stay, one that obviously still is there even after the visit. I’ll get the rest of what I did not like out of the way. I was definitely not crazy about the location of the hotel. I was EXTREMELY nervous about parking my BMW in that neighborhood. It’s what appears to be a very low income, not very well maintained area, the kind that has you saying to yourself as you get closer and closer “Google maps MUST be sending me to the wrong address, this can’t be right.” And indeed it WAS the type of neighborhood in which one frequently, as in several times a day, hears an ambulance screaming by. (I stopped counting at 5) All of that being said nothing happened to my car, and ambulances only came by a few times in the middle of the night. The “air conditioner” in the room only qualifies in you push a button, and air that is nominally cooler than what already exist in the rest of the apartment

Not what I bargained for
This place was NOT what I expected based on the room description I booked. It said it had a "jetted tub", which is technically true, but it is a very shallow tub/shower combo with the jets set at base level and only a child could really relax in it. The "garden view" was nothing of the sort; instead I got a view of a VERY LOUD, busy road that has a hospital about 2 miles down it, so I heard multiple ambulances wailing by during my one day stay. The upstairs bedroom window let in so much air and sound I checked it more than once to verify it was closed. The blinds let in a lot of light even at night and there were no curtains. The parking lot had large ridges of ice that had clearly been there a while and seemed not to have been treated, so I kept slipping and tripping going to and from the room and even my AWD vehicle was having trouble with traction at times. The kitchenette had only a mini-fridge that was horribly unbalanced and kept shifting any time I opened it and had no freezer to speak of. The only good thing I can say was the room was clean, though the cleaning product they used triggered my asthma when I first walked in, so I had to leave the door open for a bit to air the place out. The upstairs bed was comfortable, but not the sofa-sleeper. All in all, very disappointed in this booking. The only thing I am glad about is I got a big discount when booking or else I would be even more angry to have paid over $140 BEFORE the steep taxes and fees.

Very Pleased
I absolutely love the check in process. Did not have to go to the office, just went right to our room. I was happy with the room, had all the accommodations my family needed. My family especially enjoyed the access to the fitness center where we played basketball, racket ball, swam in the pool and used the steam room and sauna. They will only let kids swim if there is a life guard on duty, which is not always the case. I also appreciated that I was allowed to have my dog on the property for only a $10 fee and also got a rollaway bed for around the same price. Everything was very clean. We also had other family book for the same night and the staff was more than happy to put us all in the same location, so we had our own little corner on the property. Additionally, my mom booked her room on Hotels.com and mistakenly booked the wrong day, hotels.com wanted to charge a fee, but I called Turning Leaf directly and they quickly and happily fixed everything! Great experience and I will be back.
