Overall excellent expect one receptionist
Everything was great except the one lady at reception. She was very condescending during check-in in regards to us not being from the UK. They also don't accept Biometrics cards as a form of id to check-in (which is good enough in the UK or EU as a replacement id for my international passport) so I only needed a student id... which doesn't even have my birthday or UK residency information. Otherwise the rest of the staff was very sweet and informative. Excellent location and still part of the zone 1 in the underground. There are plenty of inexpensive places to eat in the area if you're on a budget!

Great Location & Neighborhood
The staff is very helpful, knowledgable and available. Dorm rooms are small, but comfortable. Wifi connection is ok, not always consistent. Bathrooms are clean and accessible. Common areas are large and comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking.

They say free wifi but it's only in the lobby if you have a good connection and can find a seat. The free breakfast was a little to be desired. They put out just enough to say free but really if wanted more you needed to purchase. Location was nice

Great for London on a Budget!
Was nervous about my first stay at a hostel- YHA was amazing. Within 5 min walking distance of the tube and nearby pubs the location can't be beat. Early check in was not available but they did let us leave our bags in a designated luggage room. Service was excellent- towels and hairdryer available for modest fee. We stayed in a quad room- there were 3 of us in this- 4 would have been a bit tight if we didn't know each other. Rooms do have a lockable place for luggage. Bathrooms and showers are private and clean. Beds as comfortable as bunk beds get. I would stay here again!
