Nice place
Very nice hotel. Clean room. Friendly staff. Perfect location-Walking distance to pretty much everything. The one and only complaint is that there are not enough electrical outlets for charging phones, tablets and camera batteries.

One of the best places to stay in Gatlinburg, TN
Had a lovely 2 night stay at the Gatlinburg Inn. You know going in that it is an old local hotel so the look is what is advertised. The rooms are unique but well maintained and the bathrooms were remodeled and in very good shape. You cannot beat the location in Gatlinburg as it is dead center of the strip. The pool is very well maintained and heated so even if it's cool outside you can swim. Sitting on the front porch at night and drinking provided hot coco while watching the people walking was one of the most relaxing parts of the trip. If I had two things I wish they would update would be the beds and the Wifi. They are very stiff and their pillows are terrible (make sure you each get 2).

A hotel from the 40's with a smell from the 40's.
It was . . . alright. That is really all I can come up with. First the good. The location to the strip is fantastic. You are quite literally in the middle of downtown Gatlinburg. The lobby area is very nice and cozy and well refurbished. The staff is very helpful and friendly, in fact the staff is the best part of the experience. The bathrooms have been upgraded and updated. Now the not so good. Thought the refurbishing in the lobby is very nice, the same can not be said for the hallways. They are dimly lit and have exposed pipe, conduit, and ductwork throughout the hallway ceilings. This extends to the rooms as well, sprinklers were added after the fact and because of this there are just exposed sprinkler pipes in the rooms. I realize there are limited options to fix this, but it does take away from the ambiance of the room. The no smoking policy. It is fine for a business to decide to not allow smoking. However when I was told I would be charged $250 if I smoked on the balcony, I was shocked. Then when I was informed we could only smoke in our vehicles I was annoyed. The when I realized there was no convenient exit to the back parking lot from inside the building . . . I was livid. Finally the bad. THE SMELL!!! Oh my goodness, I like the decor from the 40's . . . but I think the musty moldy smell has been there just as long. The hallways and the rooms smell musty to a degree where you cannot "get used to it."
