I liked the quiet, cozy atmosphere — the frozen lake view right from the backyard was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. The hot shower was excellent and much appreciated after being out in the cold. The only downside for me was that the beds were a bit too bouncy for my taste, but overall it was a relaxing stay.

The cottage was huge, beautiful, and clean. Beds were good. Kitchen was fully stocked, although we got takeout quite a bit. Only downside is parking. Cannot park at the cottages, have to use the lot and haul things with a cart to the cottage. Was doable for a few nights, would be tough if staying a full week. Loved the central air/heat - a rarity in cabins.

We arrived at the hotel shortly after 730 pm and there was an envelope left with keys and our name on it. There was a note that said for emergencies, call a number. I didn't have an emergency but I was wondering about how to use the gas grill and if t h ey had utensils for the grills, and I didn't think that who was emergency level, so I didn't call them.They also had all several bikes which supposedly were for use, but I didn't think it was an emergency either. Then, when we were about to checkout, there was a similar sign that said the front desk person was on premises and would be right back. By the time I loaded my car, she was back. But i did not feel that there was an appropriate level of service for our stay. The property has a nice location by a small lake, and is walkable to Nisswa even at night. I realize I got a good price on Memorial day, but I'd say this was an average at best stay.
