Pleasantly surprised
Pleasantly surprised to see how this hostal was located in the smack center of Madrid! Employees were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Great little place with a fantastic nightly rate. Would definitely stay here again! :)

Pretty good little hotel
Overall it was good. The bed was comfortable and big, and had soft sheets. The air-conditioning worked well. The staff were friendly. It was mostly quiet at night. The negative with the layout of the "hostal" is that it is a subsection of a traditional apartment building, thus the rooms are all right around the reception area, and the reception, door buzzer and door into the hostal are literally right outside one's bedroom door. So, if you plan to sleep late or nap at all during the day, it will likely include several noise interruptions. Also the pedestrian shopping street right outside is relatively loud, although the windows are relatively well-insulating. The location is also very central, and easy to walk to tons of restaurants, shops and bars.

Best experience in Spain
Tried 4 different hotels during my Spain trip. This one was by far the best - the location (just across the street from the R2 train station for those who arrive from the Airport), friendly staff, clean room, the breakfast, TV instructions, quality toiletries and etc. You can tell they thought through every little detail. Very comfortable and pleasant stay. Would go back if I travel BCN again.

Excellent hotel - clean and spacious rooms!
Rooms are updated, nice, clean and very spacious. My only issue was that the prior guest before my arrival was a smoker, and he/she must have smoked inside the room and bathroom, so it smelled like smoke when I was there. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available and I ended up having to open windows all day and blasting the A/C to get rid of the smoke... However, if you get a non-smoked room, this is a great hotel choice, close to pretty much everything. Remember to ask for a room that doesn't face the Main Street, those are very nice and quiet.
