The place, location, staff, room and breakfast were all first rate. I will stay there again. Great food and pubs nearby. Very close to Arthur's Seat.

Superb bed and breakfast!
My stay was as close to perfect as is possible. Yvonne and family were so helpful to me traveling alone. Whether it was calling taxis, laundry or holding my luggage for a late (after check-out) flight, the staff was pleasant, efficient and helpful. My room was clean and cozy and everything needed was provided and in place including a robe and slippers. The breakfasts were amazing, there was a menu with many choices.

A Pleasant Stay at the Lauderville Guest House
The owners were meticulous in trying to provide a clean, orderly and stylish environment. The room was beautifully decorated, the home was quiet and the food was good. The bus into town was fine, but we had problems finding a bus location/ bus to take us back to the Lauderville Guest House from town. We were able to park our car in the driveway, but had to park on the street the night before we left, since the gate to the driveway was locked for the night. There is a pub nearby that provided a pleasant eating experience. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at the Lauderville Guest House and would stay there again.

Guest House not Hotel
We stayed at the Lauderville Guest House for one night. We reserved 2 rooms. Our experience did not start well since I was not aware of 2 e-mails the hosts had sent me requesting our time of arrival. We realized we would be in after the hours posted (the hours were well posted and it was my fault for not being more diligent and aware of the hours). I called to let them know we would be in after 10 and received two lectures from the hostess and another lecture from the host. After apologizing for the oversight, we made arrangements for us to enter their home without them having to stay up. The rooms were small, but comfortable. The bathrooms were very small. The next morning we were kindly greeted by Simon, the son. He was very gracious and gave us wonderful advice about seeing their city. The breakfast was varied and excellent. Overall I would recommend this accommodation, but please be aware of the hours listed.
