Do not stay here
We chose the Village because it was a "Hotel" amongst backpacker guest houses close to Khaosan. We didnt expect 3 star service but we didnt expect to be treated so poorly. Staff were not friendly. Front desk staff were unaccomodating. Asked for an extra pillow and had to make 2 calls to get it. The rooms had a stench of mould and mildew. The rooms are not at all as advertised in their pictures. Great photoshop skills. The pools are disgusting. Other guests are screaming and yelling through the hallways at all hours of the night. We expect it to be loud but for a hotel price we did expect to get SOME sleep. Hotel claims they have internet but was unable to use it over the course of our stay. Slower than dialup if any at all Buffet breakfast was so disgusting we used once, got sick and found food down the road. How they can charge over 10 baht for the poor selection, disgusting tasting excuse for food is beyond us. Would rather pay 450 baht for breakfast at a hotel than eat this garbage. Only given one bottle of water over the course of 3 days. For the money they charge surely a 10 baht bottle of water could be replaced Checkout is noon, we needed an extra hour to store our luggage. Most hotels have no issue keeping your bags for you as you make arrangements to leave. NOT HERE. 20 baht per bag. Even for 1 hour. Poor service, disgusting rooms. Absolutely overcharging slumlords running this hole.

The Nazi Hotel - No Towels For You.
The good first - Great location and pool was nicely maintained. The bad - staff were not helpful. They couldn't provide me with any type of map for the immediate area, could not advise me about mini van transportation to the airport, and were not welcoming or hospitable upon my arrival. I travelled as a single and upgraded to a deluxe single accommodation. Honestly, I wondered if my room was a standard room because it lacked anything remotely associated with the word 'deluxe'. The lack of electrical outlets made for quite a challenge. I was given one towel - no washcloth nor a hand towel. I requested additional towels when I realized that the rooftop pool offered none as you are required to bring your used or unused room towel to the pool. What if you wanted to wash your hair, invite a 'friend' to spend the night, or better yet, take a shower, wash your hair and swim all with the same day? The answer - bring your used single towel to reception and exchange it for a new towel. The Nazi regime! The breakfast was not so good although I wasn't expecting much so no disappoint there. And there was one bottle of water upon my arrival and though I stayed for two nights, did not receive additional water. I was in Thailand for one month and again, I travelled as a single. I always received MULTIPLE towels and two bottled waters per day. My accommodations ranged from a villa to a bungalow to a resort to a teepee to a standard room to a boutique hotel to a clay hut.

Exceptional 10.0
Generous Budget-Hotel
The location is just fantastic. I didn't experience disturbances due to loud noise or music at night. That part of soi rambuttri was more laid back compared to that of khao san road. The hotel amenities were great considering how cheap their room rates are. It even includes free breakfast. Although, just an additional information, the food that they serve for breakfast is the same almost everyday. No issue for me though. Money changers, tailoring shops, tour agencies and a 7-11 convenience store are just all located within the compound of the hotel. Not to mention, the food vendors and bars on the street of soi rambuttri. The hotel room was clean and spacious enough for a family of four. They provided towels and toilettries. The bathroom had consistent warm water. They even granted my request to give us a room on the lower floor. They also have a swimming pool which was located at the top floor. It was a small one but you could still manage to do some laps. Due to its popularity for being a budget-hotel, the reception can be quite busy most of the time. It's always packed with guest checking in and out. Inquiries done in the front desk is quite a challenge.

A Great Budget Hotel In A Peaceful Location.
One of the best value hotels I’ve ever visited. Great, tranquil location. High level of cleanliness. Large (standard) room in block without a lift, but porter on-hand to help with luggage. Firm bed and pillow. Blackout curtains. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast perhaps a bit samey, and not that briliant for a vegetarian. Plenty of other eating options close by, so maybe have (a much cheaper) breakfast elsewhere - unless you like noodles and the like first thing in the morning. Coffee not that great. A word of caution: the room has a tiled floor. The bathroom is a wet room. The floors become incredibly slippery with wet feet. A definite must is grippy footwear when showering. Aqua shoes would be ideal. Perhaps flip flops. Definitely something to avoid slippage and falling. That, and the breakfast, are the only 2 (very slight) negatives to this hotel and I certainly wouldn’t be put off at staying in this excellent property, which offers exceptional value for money and high levels of cleanliness, comfort and friendliness. Also, the S1 airport bus stops at the end of the street and it’s a 2 minute walk. Returning to the airport is from the same stop. The cost is 60 BHT. A taxi is 10 times as much and uses the same roads as the bus and takes almost as long - about an hour. This really was one of the best finds of my travelling life and one to seriously consider if you are planning a trip to an amazing city and want to stay in a proper hotel rather than a b&b or dorm.

Terrible!!! Ugly smell, old, dirty, no service
Terrible place, it not a hotel- it is one big trouble!! Make feel bad every time come back to room. Personal in reception don't care, don't try to help with any situation what all time happened in rooms. Rooms small, old and bad take care, all time bad smell from toilet stay in all room, ( first time they send housekeeper to check the smell and she just use spray with other terrible smell. Phone in room don't work, so we had to all time go to reception to ask if they forget to put towel, or even don't mind to clean up the room, don't put water and soap. We went to reception and by the time we try to explain our trouble and ask maybe they can change room or do something with the smell, we met other couple who had same problem and even more in them room live cockroachs. So personal in reception just recommend wait until next day because them housekeeper work until 4pm. I don't recommend to any one. If you don't want to make your stay in Bangkok one big trouble don't choose that hotel.
