8/10 Very good

Lodge was old and a little dirty, but it well-surpassed our expectations. Staff were nice and helpful (except for the time they barged in our room in the morning without notice). River sound was also nice - I wish those mesh screens weren't torn and we could leave the windows open. Overall, we were happy and may return.

8/10 Very good

The reviews for this place were excellent. I was kind of disappointed and the condition of the property. Although we were next to the river, which I loved, the main raid was on the other side of the river. So I made it quite noisy. Also, the bathroom shower had a restrictor on it so you had a trickle of water when you took a shower. On the plus side it was only a few miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain Park.

8/10 Very good

Overall our stay at Ponderosa Lodge was acceptable with some updates and a helpful staff. Our room was dated but comfortable. We had no real negatives except the parking lot. It would be helpful if the stalls were better identified. Other guests would take up too much area when parking. This forced us to use a backup lot further away. I realize it's not the lodges fault but there must be a better way to identity the vehicle stalls. Maybe angle the stalls more so people have a better visual. Anyway, it is a nice base camp to RMNP and Estes Park. we enjoyed our stay!

We loved the ponderosa Room. Very clean and cozy. We felt like we were deep in to the woods without being away from the City, stores, etc.

6/10 Good

The location was fantastic and the room was pretty spacious. Loved the back deck with a table and chairs to relax by the river. The one downside, and reason I would not stay here again, was how uncomfortable the bed was. The pillows were even worse, super hard and flat. It really made for poor sleep. If you enjoy an extra firm mattress and travel with your own pillows, you might consider staying here.
