Wonderful place right on the river. Close to town and RMNP. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Only negative is parking - there just isn’t enough. But, the place is great and seemed to be full every night.

We stayed 4 nights at the Ponderosa on our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. We loved the location- a wooded area on a river, outside of the congested town and only a 10 minute drive to the less crowded park entrance. There was some noise from the road but we couldn't hear it when the windows were closed. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub after long days of hiking and the fireplace in the room was wonderful and cozy on cold nights. Would definitely stay here again!

It was quiet. clean kink of shabby the refrigerator was so cold it froze our food,,,no turn down knob the bed was good. The laundry soap was a little bit to much of a smell. a less smelly type would be good. The coffee was great. We enjoyed our trip. will probably stay some place else next time.

    Family vacation

Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. Darrell recommended 2 restaurants, which turned out to be fantastic. We would stay here again if in Estes Park again.

Love the charming woodsy atmosphere amongst the trees and river. Air conditioning would be nice, but other than that, we loved the amenities the room had, and the view was top-notch. Will definitely be coming back!

this was an add on to a trip to Loveland. We decided if we were so close to Estes Park and RMNP, we should take advantage of it. We settled on the Ponderosa Lodge because of the Fall River running through the property. We both fly fish and it was awesome to walk from our room to the river. Darrel the GM is extremely friendly and we enjoyed talking with him. We will stay again.

    Relaxing Homebase for RMNP

Great spot outside RMNP. Screens on doors allowed us to listen to creek all night. Picked this place because they said they were air conditioned, but the AC was really a heater. Luckily it was cool enough at night to not need AC, otherwise may have been an issue. We were warned to keep car locked because bears like to try to open them. Several nice spots on property to sit along the creek. Very peaceful.

  • 8.0.Very Good

I enjoyed my stay at the Ponderosa Lodge and would gladly go back. Proprietor was friendly and laid back. Shout out to good dog Aspen. Close to RMNP and quick drive or 40min walk on paved path to downtown Estes. Room was ample, no AC standard (open a window), and I really got a kick out of the wall-mounted electric fireplace!
