Be ready to party at all the music venues near the hotel. The music stops at 12:30 am!

Good 6.0
Good, but nothing special.
The check-in agent was very nice. She upgraded me on check-in after I used the magic code word. My room was fine, but there were scuff marks all over the walls. The bathroom lighting is very limited and it’s honestly kind of hard to see yourself in the mirror. Also, the hallways were super dark and kind of looked tired. I did enjoy the lobby happy hour—sitting next to the fire was cozy. However, I sat at the bar later in the evening at Geraldine’s and the bartenders barely acknowledged me and were more focused on talking to each other than interacting with the guests.

Exceptional 10.0
The entire staff at the Van Zandt went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that our stay was as great as it could be. The rooms were spacious, our bathroom had a soaking tub with a floor to ceiling window that we would use every night, and the views of the river were fantastic!

One of the best hotels I've stayed at
An absolutely amazing hotel. The service is among the best I've ever had. As my friend put it best, everyone is so happy to see you when you walk in. Great location to walk to most things or use their free bikes. The social hour drinks are a nice bonus too. The room was great. The beds were really comfortable, we slept in way too long every day. The pool area is nice and has a good view. Definitely stay here again.

Lovely New Year’s Eve stay!
We had a wonderful stay! We live outside of Austin and decided to stay downtown New Years Eve to watch the fireworks. Everyone was so friendly from the moment you walked through the doors. I would highly recommend this hotel.
