This place... wow. If you're looking for a Hilton or a Four Seasons, move along. If you're looking for a unique experience, this is your stop. We stayed in the MASSIVE penthouse, which is straight outta 1972 (probably). So funky, so big, so unique, so outdated. BUT, it was really really cool - had a great kitchen (bring your own sponge and paper towels!) and the bedrooms were comfortable and clean. For the price, it's pretty groovy.

The room was small but comfortable. The beds were comfortable enough to sleep well. The room was clean. The outside looks a bit worn and seedy but the rooms have been updated. We had some very noisy neighbors and the walls were thin. We could follow the next door conversation through the walls. The children above were excited and running around. We were amused more than annoyed and everyone settled down and became quiet before too late. Also, for several hours a fog horn blared every few minutes until about 10 pm. There is not many options in Gold Beach and so this hotel was packed. So if you need space and quiet, be forewarned.

This was the 3rd time we stayed here. We LOVE the location and the view. The carpets are pretty bad still, but it seems that they are making improvements. I'm willing to deal with the icky carpets to have such a beautiful balcony view and a very affordable price.
