    Nice hotel and excellent restaurant

Nice stay. Rooms are ok. Little noisy from the restaurant below. Very crowded on friday night. Staff was wonderful. Huge Breakfast plates and all was fresh, but we had to pay for it. It was nice if it was included.

They were willing to let us check in early. But overall the rooms were dark, No AC and could really use an update. Carpets were stained and furniture stained. Bedding and towels were dingy.

The room has no a/c. Miserable conditions. Third world. They put me on the top floor. Over 90 degrees in my room. Barely slept. Just sweat all night in a bed with holes in the sheets. Awful. Just awful. Would bever stay here again. The guy at check-in was not welcoming. Looked almost annoyed I was there. This place is a ripoff for 100$ should be 25$ a night.

Never made it past the front desk

Never made it past check in. Checked in at 10:52p. Called ahead 1 hour before. Key in front desk with my credit card slip?? No indication of how to get to room. Called and pages, no response. Wondered the first floor restaurant and waited patiently. Husband called main line and it was not answered. Approached by a man coming out of the dark room who was so startling my 6 yo jumped behind me whimpering. He was then rude and arrogant j do sit t up the stairs was room 12. No greeting/jntro. I turned and left suggested next time if he didn’t want to be bothered then leave a note how to find the room. Should I be expected to roam the entire property in the dark or assume the open staircase leads to rooms when the whole place is dark. Never again.

    OMG !!!!!

When we checked in the key for the room was just laying on the counter. We never met a person at the desk, because there was never a person at the desk. There was no phone in the room, the AC unit was a stand up fan and an open window. There was about an inch of dust everywhere and the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the last person used the room and a nice brown skid mark in the toilet bowl. There was no body at the desk to check out so we just left the key.

We liked the original decor of the building having grown up on a Vt Dairy Farm. And also the antique ski and snow shoe equipment. The food was great and plentiful! However the rooms need some repair (1 and 3). Could not completely close the windows. It was cold at night!

    Room 115

I enjoyed my one night stay in room 115. It was a small but cozy 10’ by 11’ room on the third floor with a full size bed. It could use a new upgraded mattress. The old round front Eljer toilet should be replaced with a new low flow elongated bowl comfort height toilet. I didn’t visit the restaurant or bar but plan to return and stay here again. It was clean, quiet, comfortable and no frills, as expected.
