Diamond Sea Hotel, Da Nang

Pool and breakfast are really good and the hotel staff try to be helpfull. But we had a lot of deceptions during our stay. First they tried to make us upgrade to a more expensive room a few times without telling us why (by emails and at Check in). When we arrived to our room we understood the reason. We were next door to a big construction site going on from 7am to 11 pm. We choose this hotel during our 3 weeks vacation so we could relax. If we wanted to sleep we needed to pay extra $$. They also said they provided showers on the 20th floor so we could rinse off after the checkout before our flight in the evening. We came back from the beach and found out the showers were under construction. Finally, went it was time to pick up ouf stuff from the luggage room, i found out part of my bag has been broken off from our the member of the staff took it.

For the price that I paid, this hotel didn't meet the standard. I booked the place and wrote to the hotel for a shuttle services. They didn't reply to me within the time I needed to. He k in. So, I called the hotel directly. The representative asked me for the flight info and time of arrival. I told them about it. When I arrived at the airport, I was looking anxiously for the driver. There was no driver. I don't speak the language, and someone approach he'd me to try to scan me. I finally got to a grab app, so I can arrive the hotel. I told the front desk when I. He keeps in, they seemed clueless about this incident. No one could tell what is going on. I made a complaint about it, the hotel told me they only offer shuttle at a certain time of the day. They offered no apology for the incident. I think it is ok to tell me ahead of time, so I don't have expectation. It is not ok to promise me shuttle services and left me hanging at the airport. This is very disappointing for a four star hotel. I hope the management take this as feedback and improve.

The hotel and hotel staff were very nice. However, the first room I was assigned smelled heavily of smoke and whatever they used to try to deodorize the room. The second I was assigned smelled less of smoke but, still, it was there. They finally assigned me a third room that was smoke-free. The entire time, the staff were very understanding and patient with me. In the end, the hotel needs to develop a mechanism to collect a fee from customers who decide that taking the elevator down to the first floor to smoke outside is too much of a burden. Otherwise, the hotel is probably going to lose some money. If I'd not been able to secure a smoke-free room, I would have definitely moved my stay to another location and gotten my money back. Again, it's a nice hotel with a staff that were willing to do whatever it took to help me out. I sincerely appreciate that. The 3-rating for room cleanliness is ONLY because of the smell of smoke in two of the rooms I was assigned. The third room was very clean, though. I can't emphasize that enough. It's just not fair that the hotel has to suffer because some customers are too lazy and selfish to not go outside to smoke.

This is very nice hotel and located at the main street. You will able to get to most of the areas within walking distances. Only downside was that we did not have the ocean view room. They also need to work on the refrigerators since they are not cooling the drinks at all. We got the room with good discounts due to construction... I am not sure I will pay the full amount to stay this hotel. If I had to pay full price then this hotel will be 4 stars out of 5.

The overall stay was decently convenient but the hotel needs to improve their staff training and the amenities. The gym was tiny with one treadmill, an elliptical machine, a stationed bike and one weightlifting machine. Most machines were old and making squeaky noise and they were not in readily available conditions for early risers who were at the gym early morning. The AC was off until one of the guests complained and reported that it wasn’t working. Hotel staff had decent level of command of English but not nearly enough to communicate and convey message clearly. Their partial ocean view rooms are not worth paying for the view as you barely have space to have the “view” of the sea/beach. They charge guests an “upgrade fee” in addition to paying the balance of the room rate, so do not even bother to upgrade your room as the “partial” view is not worth the money. We had to change the room twice after a late check-in (due to delayed arrival of our plane) as the staff didn’t understand which room we had asked for. Also, please be mindful when you retrieve your luggages if you keep them after the checkout as the staff in charge of luggage do not have a strong command of English and would not be meticulous. As we were in a bit of a rush to the airport and had relied on them about the luggages, we had only realized that one luggage was missing after we got to the airport and no choice but to rush back to retrieve the missing piece. Breakfast was pretty good though.
