Deadwood Gem.
We were in Deadwood for a concert, the hotel location was close to the venue, just a short 4 minute walk. I love old historic hotels and the Bullock did not disappoint, it never does. We have stayed here several times and will stay here again.

It is an older hotel and the internet is almost non existent. There were only 2 people working the hotel when we checked in. That meant those 2 people worked the desk, bar, casino, cashiers cage, and cocktailed. The slot machines are pretty tight too.

I can see why BIG casinos win over the small guys
I have been to Deadwood once a year over the last 20 or so years. My friends got married at the Franklin 20 years ago because they love the area so much and they have brought many, many people with them over that time. We always have had so much fun and one of the attractions is the eccentricity of the weather which we just love. The people that live in this area are so gracious and kind. However, I will not stay at the Bullock again. The front desk agents were disrupted from their personal cell phones by any questions we had and gave us not so good looks. My hotel cleaner/maid was wonderful however and was very sweet and gracious. The food was mediocre when the restaurant was open however the chef/server/busser/cashier (yes, he was all these things)...was incredibly personable. The condition of the hotel needs renovation and the slot machines do nothing to help this situation....they are old and worn out. You have to keep up to date in order to attract new customers and to create excitement.
