Disappointing. I treated myself to this hotel rather than going to a Premier Inn. I wish I hadn't bothered.
Arrived at the hotel and followed the signs to the accommodation, then had to walk through the dining room to try & find check-in. Some signage could help with this. The hotel manager was clearly busy and made me feel like an inconvenience. He sped through the check-in process which wasn't very welcoming. The room was lovely, although the view out to a yard with bins wasn't great.
I was woken at 7.50am by housekeeping banging on my door and trying to get in my room. There's a key drop, so it would make more sense to me to clean the rooms when people have clearly checked out.
I went to breakfast, no staff seen. The menu said to help myself to cereal and coffee, which I did, although the coffee was empty. A staff member appeared and was a bit rude about me helping myself to cereal. He was also clearly put out that I wanted a cooked breakfast. I couldn't bring myself to mention the empty cafetiere. This was not noticed for the 30 minutes I was in the dining room. The same staff member proceeded to have a conversation with other guests about how inconvenient it is that guests dont check out until 11am (the check-out time) at the weekend, which doesn't leave them enough time to clean rooms before the next guests arrive.
Clearly they need to hire more staff, ideally ones better suited to a customer-facing role.
