8/10 Very good

Don’t expect a good breakfast.
Went at shoulder season, late September to October 2. Food was terrible, they weren’t replenishing items due to end of season. They would say they didn’t have butter at dinner for bread, but had it at breakfast. They use their closing as an excuse for many things that were sub par. The price was still the same for a terrible buffet four days in a row.

6/10 Good

Honestly, the deluxe lakeside view room wasn’t deluxe and the view was of a tree and pillar. It was a standard king hotel room for like 500 more than it should have been. Not sure if this was e x p edia’s marketing or what, but I expected a lot more. Still, there aren’t many places to stay IN Yellowstone, so location is huge. I thought the food was pretty good!

Cabin was very basic. No Wi-Fi. No meal options - restraunt fully booked for stay on arrival. Location was awesome.

We stayed in the cute little cabins and it was perfect. The heater worked well, which was a bonus since we arrived overly chilled from the rainy fall weather.

We stayed in the cabins at Yellowstone Lake Hotel. They were nice but the concrete entrance steps need hand rails.

Lake Hotel is like a monument of poor remodeling with terrible cheap furniture. Our room was so disappointing especially for how much we spent (close to $2100 for 3 nights). Staff was super super short staffed, working 18 hours a day to barely keep things running. So did I mention any complaints to them? No because this sinking yellow hotel is not their fault, it is Xanterra the management company who seems to only care to make money and run their staff into misery. It was a terrible experience and I don't think I would consider booking with Xanterra properties ever again. Our bed was a miserable old spring mattress that left us tossing and turning all night. The "eco" aspect of the hotel meant we got one hand towel and two bath towels for our entire stay. The room comes outfitted with this hideous trash can for you to separate your trash (without trash liners) and the opening of this faces the bed so you can lay there and look at your banana peel all night. There was no TV. No WiFi. The heat only worked in our bathroom, meaning the bedroom dropped to 59 at night and the bathroom was 90 trying to heat the room. The food was inedible. $17.50 per person for a breakfast of powdered eggs and cold bagels. There was no toaster. It came served with a side of weak weak coffee that was barely warm. Dinner was equally disappointing with the mint and pea ravioli having sat under a warmer for so long it was turning brown. Terrible. Do not book.
