Comfortable, great location, budget friendly
Aptos Good Stay Prado is ideally located within 10 minutes walking distance of the Atocha Cercanias station, as well as the museum triangle (all of them 10 minutes or less). It's also about a 20-minute walk or so from Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor. Reception was helpful and friendly; be sure you let them know when you're checking in to help them plan accordingly. The room itself was quite comfortable and clean, and the ensuite washer/dryer was super helpful to have, although it didn't really dry. They do not clean your room everyday, which we personally preferred anyway, but some travelers might not. Finally, while the A.C. unit worked wonderfully for the hot July days, it also made weird noises that occasionally woke us up in the middle of the night. Overall, however, it's an excellent, comfortable choice with a great location for the budget traveler.

It was raining when my party and I arrived at the hotel. The staff working that day was very helpful and approachable. The room was reeking of hypochloric acid (i.e. bleach). The apartment was spacious but the beds were not as comfortable, probably because there were no additional beddings and pillows that are needed for a cold rainy night in Madrid. The functional kitchen was a great feature but I did not see its value for guests that will only stay for a couple of days. Hence, the compromise of space intended for comfort because of unneeded amenities made the room less favorable. The only advantage is its affordability and proximity to the Prado and local favorites. Unfortunately, I will not recommend the place to my friends.

Pros and cons
Overall it was great, you get a fridge, microwave, basic utensils, sandwich press, and a washer/dryer unit perfect for doing laundry while travelling. Only only con will be no in-room wifi but when you go to the entry hall wifi becomes available. Definitely will stay again.

Old, smelly, small and uncomfortable
The place is a slam! Nothing like the pictures. Fridge is from the sixties, freezer does not work and its door shut dead. Place is so small there is no extra inch. No space to put the luggage. The kitchen table right by the bathroom, that smells of sewer. The queen size bed that is on the picture is not a bed at all - it is the pulled out sofa sleeper with old thin mattress. Water in the shower goes cold after 5 min. and you have to wait for an hour for it to warm again! The only positive experience is the reception guy - always friendly, smiling, trying to help in any way he can. There are plenty boutique hotels and apartments in the area that are more appealing. Would never stay there again!

has potential but a bit lacking
The location is convenient and enjoyable but the room is very stark. No decor, extra pillows, extra linens etc. Too spartan for my taste.
