The building is old with a mural painted on the wall of the staircase. It is located on a pedestrian street with every possible service available and is a couple of blocks from the main square.
Checking in was friendly as was service at breakfast. This was a basic Mexican continental breakfast with a pitcher of orange juice, percolator coffee, one sweet and one whole grain cereal, toast, and either bananas or whole guayabas. It is served on real dishes in the lobby downstairs which is a Brazilian restaurant by night.
The room was large with a view of the street. We stayed cool between the window and the ceiling fan. It was an oddly arranged room with a big step up into the bathroom/closet area. It had a large closet with space for a suitcase to sit and some shelf space, a small sofa, comfortable bed, a good shower, and good internet.
There was street noise as we were there on independence day eve when the celebrations take place. Nevertheless, with the ceiling fan we were able to close the window and sleep undisturbed.
This hotel was reasonably priced, historically interesting, and had an excellent location walking distance to most attractions.
