Hotel Roble lived up to expectations.
It was pretty much as expected given the reviews I read - nothing fancy. Good for people on a budget concerned primarily with having a safe, clean place to rest their head at the end of a day of exploring Mexico City. Wifi was strong for me (in the room and in the lobby), the Metro (Pino Suarez) is a short walk, and I found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful, but then, I speak Spanish, so that probably went a long way.

Great location close to center. Room had A.C. and safe. Wi-Fi would occasionally lose signal however for the most part worked fine. Small room but fine for the price. Quiet room.

Just okay
We had to find a room at the last minute due to a canceled flight out of Mexico City. On a Saturday night around the Zocalo, this hotel was all we could find. The location was good - a couple of blocks form the Zocalo, but that's about the only good thing I can say. The room was barely adequate - very small and strangely arranged but quiet (it was on the 2nd floor at the back of the hotel). Our friends had a room on the second floor on the street side and because their window didn't shut properly, they heard street noise all night. We had to leave early - no taxi was arranged, even though we previously requested it - and the breakfast area was not open. None of the desk staff seemed interested in helping us. Maybe it was because we were Americans - understandable in Mexico right now.

Great location bad hotel
Location was great, just three blocks from the Zocalo Metro station. The hotel itself is not good, bathroom wasn't clean I have doubts they clean the room every day.

good clean hotel downtown
Great location and clean. Overall is a good hotel to stay in relation to the price. Staff was helpfull and as guest you get 10% off for the restaurant which is also good.
