Meiser's Hotel am Weinmarkt, Dinkelsbuehl
Beautiful hotel in the heart of the Altstadt. Close to the cathedral, shops and restaurants but, the restaurant in the hotel is amazing. Fabulous food, excellent service and awesome food. I learned 20 years ago that most American go to Rothenberg, most Germans go to Dinkelsbuhl. Far superior IMHO to the facade put on in Rothenberg. This is a real town, not a tourist trap!

Huge rooms in charming town
The room was huge and nicely appointed. The biggest problem was that we visited at the end of July and without air-conditioning we had a trade-off between having open windows for air circulation and not having sunlight awaken us in the morning. The breakfast buffet was quite nice. The location was excellent.

Festive in Dinkelsbuhl
Nice, upgraded rooms, just a bit warm (but what room in Europe during the peak of summer isn't). We arrived in the middle of the Kids Festival, which was great to see, but went late in to the night...basically right across the street. Wonderful atmosphere, just don't plan to get to sleep too early, especially if your room faces the street. Even with the festival, parking wasn't too hard to find, you just can't pull up to the front door to unload and load because the road could be blocked off--other times should be fine. Food in the restaurant was very good, really enjoyed the breakfast. We'd definitely stay there again...just wish they had some fans to help blow air around in the hot summer evenings.

great restaurant and hotel in dinklesbuehl
all went well. ate at the restaurant several times. It was very good; with extended hours, and very popular in town. The room wise nice, but there is no elevator service and stairs are not real standard (some old and uneven and some new and spiral). FYI... there was no real hotel service... now, I never really needed any, but just so you know... this is more of a restaurant with a hotel attached (not the other way around). BUT, the room was very very nice. Also, see photos for cool old staircase, photos of hotel and photo from view of outside patio where I ate most of my meals.
