Hotel Zephyr, San Francisco
I really did not enjoy my stay here. The water was shut off at one point and the main elevators were broken. They didn't help direct you on how to get up and down and I was locked in a staircase at one point. I also think the hotel smelled terrible.

Our room was a little tired looking. Could use a little tlc . The mirror in the bathroom was very hard to get ready in. Also lighting could have been better.

Overall it wasn't bad, but I'm not sure I would stay again. They told us there was a little cafe/food truck in the courtyard that would be open for simple breakfast in the mornings (they even had signs up at the front desk advertising it), however it was never open during the 3 mornings we were there. So it was annoying to have to leave the hotel to get a decent cup of coffee and something small to eat. Not much nearby is actually open that early. I found it strange that they didn't have any kind of lobby coffee in the morning like other hotels in this class. It's such a simple thing to provide that makes guests happy. It's an extremely touristy area, so if that's what you're into, you'll like it. Convenient for ferries to Sausalito and Angel Island, and Fisherman's Wharf. The rooms on the Beach St. side are pretty noisy. You get a lot of street car noise, and they could definitely use thicker windows. It was always really busy in the lobby with a line to talk to someone at the desk. If you're in a hurry, make sure to allow time for that. There is a resort fee that they call something else- "urban fee" or something. Incredibly annoying that they don't just include it in the room rate since it is a mandatory fee. Parking is $58/night, FYI. Not included in the resort fee. On the upside, the mattress and pillows were comfortable.

Fun hotel with a different VIBE
Excellent location and amenities. Only 2 comments: 1) Even though I was aware of the extra charge of $23.29/night for resort fee, I feel that as expensive as this hotel is (VERY), some of the items that this fee covered should have been included in the nightly rate like most other hotels I've ever been to such as in-room coffee and internet access. The other items were never used; fitness center, newspaper, business center/computer access. This could be charged extra for those that use those services. So, my stay total was increased by $69.87 on top of the $1306.77 I paid. I just thought this was being too cheap. 2) just a suggestion...many hotels are helping the environment by saving water. They ask guests to leave hanging towels they can use again and throw on the floor those to be switched out. I definitely could have used my towels for 3 nights. Anyway, saves water, saves the hotel money and helps the environment. Guest services were fabulous!

Nice Hotel
Very close walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and shopping and boat tours. The Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. It would've been nice to have the ability for room service, but there were many restaurants close by.
