Good for the location.
The location is great, but the communal kitchen is old. Breakfast is poor and there is always a volunteer checking if you are taking more than one egg. The staff that work there are volunteers that in return for five hours of work a day, stay there for free. They are not friendly at all. If you are willing to overlook it all, the location is great. Walking distance to the old city.

Centrally located hostel. Very nice basic hostel with nice staff. I stayed in a single room - very good option if you want some privacy but still contact with other travellers in the common areas/kitchen. The rooms facing Jaffa street can be a little bit noisy - I think the hostel provided ear plugs.

Beware of hostile receptionist who looks stupid
We stayed a few days and checked out leaving our luggage stored as we were coming back a few days later as per our reservation. We came back a few days later around midnight and had to ring and ring for the receptionist to come down. My wife had trouble opening the locker room with the code and I asked the receptionist to help. She said that she doesn’t open doors for anyone and that my wife should try again. When I said that she clicks the, the employee told me I should try it as she didn’t open doors for anyone. My wife asked her to please open it for us as we had travelled the whole day and it was past midnight already. The receptionist tried and after 3 attempts herself she was able to do it. I asked her for her name and she refused to give it to me. I told her she was a bitch and that I didn’t need her name because in the review I would merely put, “ look for the girl who looks stupid. You will recognize her the moment you see her.” Mean person. Another time I rang and rang the front door until another guest let me in. When I went upstairs, I found the receptionist surfing on her phone. Breakfasts were for the calorie restricted. For anyone looking for a similar hostel at comparable prices, I highly recommend Abraham Hostel right up the street. Breakfasts there are sumptuous and the staff are not resentful and mean spirited. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Avoid 6 bed female dorm
I have been in MANY hostels over the past 10 yrs. But this is the 1st place I evrr walked out of. EVER. After an hour, I was convinced I couldnt feel good there. This place is very rundown and really needs a good clean. The 6 bed female dorm was extremely cramped and the beds were even smaller than regular twin bunks. The carpet in the room had dark, dirty, gross spots. On the other hand, staff was courteous and location is very good.

Great location near the old city and near bars and restaurants. Simple comfortable room but rather limited breakfast options.
