Hotel The-Ore, Seoul

Although it cost more than I wanted to spend, I understood it to be due to New Year's Even. For the most part, it was worth it, but a little steep. The room was compact, but clean and comfortable. Tall ceilings gave the feeling it was larger. There was floor heating and ceiling unit heating which was nice. And I could control it from my room! That was a first. I had a corner room which was cool at night. The bathroom was small and the shower got everything wet, even the toilet paper edges. Bed was firm but comfy. Service staff was really good; helpful and pleasant. Breakfast for $7 was okay. There were scrambled eggs which was nice and the staff was attentive in the dining area.(They played a religious tv program in there but it was in Korean so I didn't understand it much.) The elevators to the rooms, (elevators from outside to lobby were separate), did not match up with the lobby floor or dining. So when it was time to check out, there were always some stairs to climb. With big, heavy luggage, that was not ideal. Overall, a little pricey, but was very comfortable, had all the basics and the service was great with most speaking English well. Also, close to transit, shopping and restaurants.

The property is located in hongdae, a vibrant area with lots of entertainment and f&b options. The nearest subway is Hongik university station (7min walk). There is also direct bus from incheon airport to a bus stop 7min walk from this property. Bus journey takes around 45min. The property is a little dated but fairly well maintained. There is also water dispenser on each floor. No complaints about this property and as the hotel isn't located along the main street, it was pretty quiet. would consider coming back to this property.

Went to Seoul for vacation and stayed at the Ore. Nice place!
