Hyatt Place Miami Airport-East, Miami

Location to MIA was great and front desk was fine (nothing outstanding) - but that is where anything fine and great stopped! Beyond the lobby the cleanliness of the hotel was HORRIFIC. It appeared that housekeeping had not vacuumed the hallways or elevator entrances in a year! I kid you not...there were strings, dirt, lint and even wrappers everywhere. We kept thinking that they just hadn't gotten to it yet that day, but when we left the room the NEXT day all of the same things were on the floor. It was NOT just one area either...it was every hall, every floor. I know because it's harder than heck to find an ice machine.The room had the potential to be nice as it was VERY large with a L shaped couch and end table area beyond the beds(which we enjoyed) BUT the cleanliness of the room was lacking too. There were hairs left on the back of the toilet and on the floor (NOT ours, we had just arrived).Their were leftover marks of something that had run down the glass..ugh! That put us all on edge, making us analyze the sheets and pillows, etc. We know they do have housekeepers cause we ran into one right outside our room, she was SITTING on a luggage hauler reviewing her Facebook. She gave us a dirty look when we came down the hall and then went back to FB. Over an hour later I went to go get ice and she was STILL sitting there, still on FB. Can't make this up! As a Manager myself, I would attribute this all to bad management and until it is fixed, I would discourage this hotel

Arrived late due to flight delays. The staff was very helpful. Facility was clean and the beds comfortable. The only thing I noticed that was odd was you check in on the second floor adjacent to the bar. No signs telling you that your "At the front desk". You almost think your going to order a drink, not check in.

Nice hotel, upgrade to the corner room if you can. I stayed in room 520. Floor to ceiling windows on two full walls, overlooking the runways at MIA. Planes were really close on final, but you could barely hear them at night. Updated decor, clean lobby and rooms, okay breakfast, no bacon :( but otherwise nice. Staff was really nice. Location is a little tricky because the front street is one way but easy to get used to. Construction next door but aside from seeing it, didn't bother me at all. Valet parking only but I asked if I could self park and they didn't have a problem with it (I didn't want to have to wait for valet in the morning, but they never looked busy so I don't think it would taken long anyway). Overall I would highly recommend this hotel especially the corner room if you like airports or planes. But if you're staying a few days and doing a lot of site seeing, I wouldn't recommend just purely on location. Either way you will definitely not be disappointed in the hotel itself. P.S. Staff was helpful, welcoming, and friendly on arrival. Room was fabulously comfortable, clean, quiet, well appointed with modern furnishings. Hot and cold Breakfast items were available. Wish they had Breakfast GoBags available as I had to leave early after arriving very very late at night. When I made the same day reservation at 7 phish- was told by hotel staff that I could call 24/7 for shuttle but when I called late at night after arriving fromDC no one picked up the phone - ever - 1058 pm, 1139 pm, 1146 pm. Got car and ended up paying for parking! Very unhappy about that.

Hotel is convenient to airport. We arrived at 12:10 AM and left by 11:00 AM to go scuba diving in Key Largo. Arrived back at hotel around 8 PM and left again by 10 AM. Bottom line: we didn't spend much time at the facility besides sleeping. We used airport shuttle three times...timely and kind driver. The free breakfast was delicious. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The room was very spacious. We needed a crib and the crib was new and clean--appreciated! The crib was not set up, but my husband said the assembly process was quick. Overall, I would stay at this Hyatt again. The free, 24-hour airport shuttle was a plus for us. Other hotels don't offer 24-hour service.
