Best of Kyoto
My second stay here, and I will make every effort to return here whenever I find myself back in Kyoto.

The Gallery Shines in Kyoto
Sakura Terrace is a trendy modern style of hotel. We really liked how close it was to Kyoto Station and the Aeon mall. It felt odd how packed into the neighborhood it was, but that’s just Japan life for you. The buffet is excellent with a wide variety of delicious food items. I am glad I prepurchased the morning meals! Oh! And they offer a free cocktail every night of your stay (you can grab a non-alcoholic one too)! Sakura Terrace is definitely a place we will return to when visiting Kyoto again. It was my wife’s very first international trip and The Gallery certainly made a very positive mark on her stay, which I am very grateful for.

First class stay!
Absolutely first class hotel with the best breakfast buffet. We stayed in the North building, king size bed with a patio (which we didn't use, weather was too cold). The best place we stayed in while in Japan. Free lattes (via coffee machine) in the lounge and the onsen (public bath) was delightful with a sauna and a cold plunge pool.

Perfect location, good property amenities
The restaurant in this hotel is good. It is very close to Kyoto Station. It has a nice environment. And if you are someone who does long trips carrying as little as possible, this is a good stop as there is a laundry room with detergent for a mid trip wash.

Beautiful and interesting boutique hotel
It’s a beautiful place, so convenient to the train station, with a great breakfast. The downsides are that you have to wait for breakfast every day because there aren’t enough tables and my room wasn’t as clean as I would have liked for it to be. In fairness, it was mainly clean and I didn’t complain about it or ask them to clean it once I noticed the long black hairs in my bathroom or the old stains on the comforter. Another thing that wasn’t ideal was that the ladies who cleaned every day were very loud. I don’t know what they were discussing but it seemed like they were arguing and due to the design of the building it echoed throughout the interior and become even louder. It was unprofessional although I couldn’t hear it from inside my room, only when I came out for the day. There were easy checkouts using a machine if you didn’t have anything extra to pay for. Took one minute or less by inserting your room key.
